Negotiating the employment of older people: an open dialogue between employers and trade unions

After eleven rounds of discussions since the end of December, the first session negotiations have really only just begun. There are two last dates on the agenda: March 20 and 26. Target? Find a toolkit designed to help increase activity levels among people aged 60–64 and improve older people’s retention in the workforce to advance their retirement age. The meeting is being closely watched by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal and his Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire, who are working to “parasitize” the atmosphere by increasing pressure and threats against social partners.

The latest big announcement today: “The state must finally regain control of unemployment insurance,” Bruno Le Maire said in an interview with Le Monde newspaper. “There are two rooms, two atmospheres. One in the Ministry of Labor, where they tell us: we respects given boundaries. The other, led by Bersi, sweeps away CFDT number two Ivan Ricordo. “You have to ask Work! But receiving a declaration from the Bercy owner every eight days is a bit of a hassle,” says Eric Schewe of CPME. (confederation of small and medium-sized enterprises).
