After Covid, a former restaurant owner lost everything: “You have to be strong not to drown”

He had everything to be happy in his work. In 2018, Rochelle Rahaga, who was 48 years old at the time, ran three restaurants and had about fifty employees. Franchises of the Del Arte chain located in Vesoul (Haute-Saône), Belfort (Territoire de Bellefort) and Audencourt (Doubs). Of course, a lot of resources had to be mobilized: about 900,000 euros for the first one, Vesoul, opened in 2013.

Del Arte’s central management pushed him to quickly open two more locations, each time guaranteeing additional income from significant rent (€10,500 per month for the restaurant). Rochelle succumbed to the lure of growth and followed it up with a second appearance at Belfort the following year; then again in 2015 at Audencourt. Or a total of 2.7 million euros invested, taken out of his pocket and supplemented by several bank loans.
