Several Pop Girl cosmetics sets for children are recalled due to risk of injury.

Be careful if your children have used makeup palettes in recent months or years: several sets are being recalled across France due to the risk of injury. In recent days, the government website Rappel Conso has launched alerts for Markwins brand Pop Girl products being sold in various stores across the country. The three kits, containing cosmetics and accessories, are accused of risking skin damage and corrosion, as well as eye damage.

The document published last week refers to a set called “Color Tin”, which is sold in Carrefour, Intermarché, U and Netto stores. It is a “mixture of methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone,” preservatives that are not approved for use in leave-on cosmetic products. According to the National Agency for Food Safety, Environment and Occupational Health (ANSES), there has been an “alarming increase” in the number of cases of allergy to methylisothiazolinone in France and Europe in recent years.

This cosmetic bag contains several makeup products and accessories. Its GTIN number is 4038033390092 and its lot number is 6200136. The sets were sold from February 5 to September 2, 2021.

Next up are the Color Train Case makeup sets, which will be on sale from February 5, 2021 to June 1, 2023 at Carrefour, Intermarché, U, Casino, Auchan and Leclerc stores. These are the same substances that can cause injury. His GTIN is 4038033390214, his number is 1539021E, and his number is 6200140.

These two sets are no longer transportable but are returned to the point of sale for a refund. The number for consumers is: 06 21 22 79 31. The recall procedure ends on April 30.

The recall affected the latest product: the Mini Cosmetic Bag, this time only sold in Monoprix stores throughout France. Its model is 1539011E, GTIN is 4038033390115, and this applies to all batches of the product. In this case, you should also not use the kit again, but return it to the retailer and contact customer service. Another number has been set: 0 800 084 000. The call back procedure ends on June 26, 2024.

Several sets of the same brand were already released last year at the European level due to the same mixture of preservatives. “Skin contact with products” containing methylisothiazolinone and methylchloroisothiazolinone “may cause allergic contact dermatitis,” reports Safety Gate, Europe’s non-food recall notification system.
