Severe forms in some cases
If these products were recalled (and they are obviously no longer on sale), it is because they were contaminated with listeria, the bacterium responsible for the food-borne infection called “listeriosis.” This can happen up to eight weeks after eating contaminated foods. Listeriosis can cause fever, headaches and body aches.
“Pregnant women, as well as immunocompromised and elderly people should be especially alert to these symptoms,” Rappel Konso warns on her website. Pregnant women can sometimes experience severe forms with “neurological complications and damage to the mother or fetus.”
If you have consumed one of these products and notice these symptoms, contact your doctor and report your use.
Return the item to the point of sale
If you purchased one of these products and do not use it, return it to the place of purchase. A refund will be issued.
For Entremont brand districts, the recall process will continue until Tuesday, April 23, 2024. For Carrefour brand cheeses, the recall will last until Sunday, May 5 for the 250g piece, and until Monday, May 6 for the grated cheese.
