The dollar in Venezuela it was trading down on the day, according to DolarToday, amid the fact that the country reached 444,411 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic

At the opening, the dollar stood at 4.80 digital bolivars in the informal market of Venezuela, a level lower by 0.20% compared to the previous day when it was quoted at 4.81, according to data from the portal DolarToday.

Venezuelan authorities detected 225 new cases of covid-19 in the last hours, 218 due to community transmission and 7 imported, bringing Venezuela to 444,411 since the start of the pandemic, Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez reported on Thursday.

“The Presidential Commission for the Prevention, Care and Control of covid-19 reports that in the last hours 225 new infections were detected in our country: 218 cases of community transmission and 7 imported“Said Rodríguez on his Twitter account.

He explained that, of the imported cases, 3 come from Spain, 3 from Turkey and 1 from the Dominican Republic.

Regarding community infections, Rodríguez indicated that the region with the most cases was Lara with 41, followed by Zulia with 27, Miranda with 22, Caracas with 20, Yaracuy and Táchira with 19, Anzoátegui with 14 and Aragua with 12.

The states of the Caribbean country with fewer cases were Carabobo and Bolívar with 9, Trujillo with 8, La Guaira with 6, Falcón and Guárico with 5 and Sucre and Portuguesa with one.

In this way, Venezuela reached 444,411 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, although 433,621 patients have recovered, 97% of the total, with which there are currently only 5,466 active cases.

On the other hand, the vice president reported that in the last 24 hours 3 more people died from COVID-19, of which 2 died in Barinas and 1 in Portuguesa, bringing the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic to 5,324.
