The price of the dollar in Colombia was trading lower in Thursday’s session, amid a global decline in the US currency, while stock markets in the region were trading mixed.

For its part, the benchmark index of the Colombian stock market, the MSCI COLCAP, fell 0.15% yesterday to 1,582.84 points in Wednesday’s session.

The dollar fell on Wednesday, in line with a decline in the yields of the United States Treasury debt, although the greenback remained well supported by market fundamentals and investors are getting ready for interest rate hikes from the Federal Reserve (Fed ) this year.

Next week, the Fed will hold its two-day meeting and could provide details on the end of its quantitative easing measures, which will probably be in March. The US central bank could also signal an interest rate hike in March.
