The number of workers affected by ERTE has risen to 4,500 in the province of Castellón after restrictions on hospitality and commerce

January says goodbye with extremely worrying data for the working market from the province of Castellón. The bill for the third wave of the Covid pandemic leaves 1,300 more unemployed and 4,200 jobs destroyed in the Castellón regions, according to data published this Tuesday by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy. In addition, those affected by Temporary Employment Regulation Records (ERTE) also increase in the province due to restrictions in hospitality and commerce and stand at 4,500 affected at the end of the first month of the year, reports the Ministry of Inclusion and Social Security.

Castellón has dismissed January with a total of 44,535 unemployed, 3.10% more than the previous month, which in absolute terms means that 1,341 people have gone out of work in the first month of 2021. In the last year, unemployment has increased by 14.33% with 5,583 more unemployed.

The services sector is the one that concentrates practically all of the new unemployed in January. A total of 1,334 workers in this economic activity have lost their jobs in the province. Agriculture also adds unemployed (+154) while industry closes January with 4 fewer unemployed and construction has 3 more unemployed. On the other hand, in the group of without previous employment, that is to say, those who are looking for their first job opportunity, unemployment drops by 146 people.

As for the affiliation, the data for January are also discouraging in the province of Castellón.
