Laura Pausini. Nice to meet you”, an Amazon original film in which the Italian singer-songwriter and producer recounts her life and shows her “true soul,” will be released on April 7, the streaming platform reported Thursday.

The new Amazon Original movie will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.

The film, based on an original idea by Pausini, begins with the question: what would have happened if Laura had not won the Sanremo Music Festival that night in 1993?

Amazon said in a statement that in her debut in front of the cameras, the “queen of Italian pop” reveals to the public her love for cinema and her true soul “through never-before-seen moments from her private and professional life.” Pausini “gives the audience ample opportunity to discover new and unknown aspects of her for the first time.”

To tell her story, Laura remembers all her steps, from childhood to the different stages of her career and her life, while considering what could have happened if she had not had the luck and persistence to live the life of a global star.

The film was written by Ivan Cotroneo (La kryptonite nella borsa, Un bacio), who is also directing it, and by Monica Rametta (Un bacio, Il volto di un’altra) and Laura Pausini. Francesca Picozza is the creative producer and Gherardo Gossi (Diaz, Le sorelle Macaluso) is the director of photography.

“Laura Pausini – Nice to meet you” is an Endemol Shine Italy production for Amazon Studios. With more than 70 million records sold worldwide, Laura Pausini is one of the most renowned Italian artists around the world.

He recently collaborated with singer-songwriter Diane Warren on the song “Io Sì! (Seen) which won the award for Best Original Song in a Feature Film at the Golden Globes.
