Oscar 2022: meet all the performers nominated for the Best Actress category

Full of surprises. The Oscar awards 2022 has just announced its nominees for the Best Actress category and has two performers who have managed to surprise the audience after their nomination in one of the most important contests of the gala.

Leslie Jordan and Tracee Ellis Ross announced the five women in the running for the statuette at the new edition of the Academy Awards. The first surprise was Jessica Chastain for her role as Tammy de Ella in “The Eyes of Tammy Faye”. The actress had not been considered by critics within the forecasts for this category.

Olivia Colman continues on the list for her role as Leda in “The Lost Daughter”; Penélope Cruz who plays Janis in “Parallel Mothers” and Nicole Kidman who plays Lucille Ball in “Being the Ricardos”.

Finally, who also gave the surprise in this category was Kristen Stewart for her role as Diana in “Spencer”. The American actress receives her first nomination at the Academy Awards at the age of 31; despite the fact that she was not considered -at first- by the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) during the voting period.

The central gala of the 2022 Oscar Awards will be held next Sunday, March 27 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, United States. The transmission of the event will be in charge of the ABC chain in the USA.
