Blackpink joins BTS in a new project, why does Blink disapprove?

blackpink and bts lead the most popular groups and celebrities in South Korea and the world. Both K-pop groups are on the world charts and are constantly trending on social networks. This latest news about the new Blackpink project has come as a surprise, after two years of inactivity for the girlband.

To the amazement of many K-pop fans, these iconic bands will share this project, but it is not a collaborative project between the members of BTS and Blackpink, but rather a work between YG entertainment and HYBE, the agency that represents Bangtan and from which the idols they are also part owners.

HYBE together with the female group BLACKPINK, made up of Lisa, Rosé, Jisoo and Jennie, reported on March 2, 2022 the next project they are working on together. What is it about? We tell you everything below.

What is the new project about?

Blackpink would be working on the release of a book titled “Blackpink in your korean”, the objective of this material would be the induction of the Korean language to the foreign public. This book would be a language learning material and a disseminator of Korean culture.

The product they have been making is a pack of items that contains: two books, a purse, among other merchandising items from the successful girlband. As we know from previous projects that HYBE has worked with BTS, Blackpink would be joining the interpreters of “Butter” in creating and disseminating this type of material.

Just like the talented members of Blackpink, they joined the Weverse platform, an official communication channel between K-pop artists and their audience. Platform managed by the same agency (HYBE) and initially created for the exclusive communication of its artists, which would later be extended to the entire K-pop industry.

These collaborations between the agencies could indicate that it is not so far-fetched to think that eventually both groups could collaborate musically or in person on some other project.

Bangtan Sonyeondan and HYBE have previously worked on projects related to learning the Korean language. Together they have created merchandising as useful with the voices of the members of Bangtan or “Talk! with BTS”, “Learn Korean with BTS”, a series of articles and exclusive material. This news of Blackpink joining BTS in this similar project has not been to Blink’s liking, why?

Why doesn’t BLINK approve the collaboration?

Blink has shown their discontent regarding the new announcement from YG Entertainment and HYBE regarding Blackpink’s next project. The disapproval of the fandom of the female group is not related to the fact that it is a collaborative work with HYBE or the type of material they are releasing, but to the little or no news that there is of the Blackpink comeback.

The fact that the agency has decided to focus on continuing to generate profit through merchandising without informing about a new music project or substances for Blackpink has caused anger in the band’s fandom.

The blinks have demanded that YG Entertainment announce a comeback date for the girlband or know of any progress on a new album or musical project, however; They have had no response. Two years after the release of “The Album”, Blackpink has not revealed any of the band’s own music again.

In this period of time, the members of Blackpink have focused on their personal careers as ambassadors of major brands or on their musical debuts as soloists, this is the case of Rosé and Lisa. On the other hand, Jisoo has ventured into the world of acting with the controversial drama “Snowdrop”.

Despite the success that Rosé, Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo are having in their respective careers, so far no tentative date for the girlband’s comeback is known, nor is there any news about future collaborations or musical projects such as a new album.
