Isabela Merced will star in the adaptation of “A Thousand Times Until Always” for HBO Max

Elizabeth Merced, the young American actress of Peruvian descent, announced a new and ambitious project in her career. This is the film adaptation of “Turtles All the Way Down” (“A thousand times forever”), the most recent novel by writer John Green, famous for the books “Under the Same Star” and “Paper Towns”, which also became blockbusters.

The news was confirmed by “The Hollywood Reporter”, which announced the artist with a Peruvian mother as the head of the cast. In the film, she will play the role of Aza Holmes, a teenager who suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and who, together with Daisy, her best friend, will try to solve the mysterious disappearance of a billionaire to obtain the $100,000 reward. offered to solve the case.

The production of the film will fall to New Line and it would be released by the HBO Max streaming platform. Filming would begin in April of this year under the direction of Hannah Marks and the scripts of Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, the latter known for her work on “This Is Us” and “Love, Simon”.

In a recent interview with Skip Intro of “El Comercio”, Isabela Merced had already said that she had a project that, hopefully, she would start filming in April and that she was very excited about. Now we know what it is.

“Turtles All the Way Down” (“A thousand times forever”), published in 2017, is the last of the novels edited by John Green, who faced an unprecedented bestseller in 2012 with “The Fault in Our Stars” (” The Fault in Our Stars”), which hit theaters in 2014 with Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort as leads.

The adaptation of “A thousand times until forever” had been negotiated since 2017, but was delayed to date.

In “The Hollywood Reporter” they make the announcement of the making of the film describing Isabela Merced as “one of the busiest rising talents in Hollywood”, mentioning her recent work in “Sweet Girl” (with Jason Momoa) and “Dora and the Lost City of Gold”.
