“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”: what does the post-credits scene of the movie mean? SPOILERS

The expected “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” It is already available in theaters in Peru and the world, so the reactions and theories around what is shown at the end of the story are not long in coming. Let’s get to the point and focus on the already mentioned post-credits scene of the film.

We start by saying that it’s not just one post-credits scene but two.

the first scene

The first post-credits scene takes place in the middle of, forgive the redundancy, the credits. We see Steve Stranger coming out of his house dressed as a normal person. As he walks calmly down the street, a woman dressed in a lilac suit, played by Charlize Theron, She approaches him to tell him that she has caused “a raid”, so he must help her solve that problem. As she speaks it, she opens a portal where she shows him the disaster that is taking place in the Dark Dimension.

“You caused a raid and you have to fix it. Or you are afraid?” this mysterious being asks Strange. To which he takes it as a challenge, he takes off his cape and says of course not, while he lets out his third eye from his forehead.

Who is this new character?

This woman in purple is called Clea, and is the daughter of Prince Orini (son of Olnar, the former ruler of the Dark Dimension) and Umar (sister of the Terrible Dormammu). Orini was the closest and most loyal disciple of Sleepmammu.

Therefore, the character played by Theron is the niece of the villain sleepmammu, who we saw in the 2016 movie “Doctor Strange”. Those who saw this film will remember that the protagonist of the story left him trapped in a constant déjà vu.

Clea It is also, Supreme Sorceress of the Dark Dimension, the same one that was ruled by Dormammu. Let us remember that in this space, time does not exist in the same way that it does within the regular universe. Not a minor fact is that the powerful woman was one of Strange’s great loves.

the second scene

Unlike the first post-credits scene, the second one has nothing to do with the future plot of Doctor Strange. However, for fans of Sam Raimi, this scene is indeed full of meaning. Is about Bruce Campbell, the American actor whom the film director always includes in several of his feature films. He has done it since Infernal possession (1981-1992) until the famous trilogy of spider-man (2002-2007).

Campbell appears in two parts of the film. First, in a parallel universe. Here, he sells pizzas and behaves rudely towards Doctor Strange, so Doctor Strange, as a punishment, puts a spell on him so that he hits his face for 48 hours.

In the post-credits scene, the salesman appears again. He notices that he’s not hitting his face anymore, so, looking at the camera, he says, “It’s over!” After this, the movie ends.

THE SYNOPSIS
