btsthe band of k pop, is again in the news but not because of the upcoming release of his new album but thanks to the statements of the singer and former member of One Direction, Liam Payne. The former lead singer of the British band would have given statements that angered groups of fans of different artists.
Recently, the interpreter of “Strip that down” gave an interview for Logan Paul’s podcast called “Impaulsive”, in said show the singer made multiple comments that did not leave ARMY happy at all, what did Liam Payne say? In the next paragraph we will tell you.
STATEMENTS BY LIAM PAYNE, EX ONE DIRECTION, ANGRY ARMY
Logan Paul conducted an interview with Liam Payne, a former member of the boyband One Direction, in which more than one controversial comment was made regarding different artists in the music industry, which left several fandoms unhappy. The podcast called IMPAULSIVE talked about Payne’s musical journey and his time with One Direction, however; They also commented that the success achieved by the British band would keep them even after breaking up as the biggest boy band in the world.
Logan Paul noted the following: “You’re part of One Direction, probably the biggest boyband of all time and their success hasn’t been replicated yet. I don’t know if there is anyone else besides K-pop.”
ARMY lashed out at Payne for the way he mentions the K-pop industry and his fans, as he seems to be belittling his effort and work. Also, ARMY points out that he has found a way to minimize the global impact of K-pop and BTS.
The discussion that constantly leads fandoms to discuss whether BTS should be included in the pop industry as is regardless of their language. Many K-pop fans are not in favor of excluding K-pop from the industry, which is why ARMY pointed out that BTS would have already surpassed One Direction’s success, as the South Korean boyband continues to sell out concerts, selling merchandise to massive quantities, and remains in the musical top with not only one album but several.
Following Logan Paul’s comment, Payne responded: “I do think some K-pop bands have turned the issue back on. Of course obviously we can also count on 5 seconds of summer. They also worked well”

Bangtan Sonyeondan continues to produce new albums and give concerts unlike One Direction, who have decided to part ways and pursue their solo careers. ARMY made it clear through networks that the impact of BTS has far exceeded that of One Direction.
The interpreter of “For You” would not only have angered other fandoms but also the 1D fandom, who point out that his comments are unwise. Among other statements, Payne would have pointed out in said interview that his solo single was the most successful and most listened to on stream compared to that of his bandmates. Contrary to what Payne declared, the directioners indicated in networks that the most listened solo single of the members of 1D, belonged to Harry Styles with “Sign of the times”.
5SOS Family, the fanbase of 5 seconds of Summer, also came out to declare on networks that the Australian boyband supported K-pop and BTS, contrary to what it may seem that Payne points out:
I don’t know why there are some who are angry with 5SOS for not singing Dynamite by BTS but I just came to leave this here

1D was a phenomenon and I was the most directioner in the world but how do you compare it with bts? Incomparable
And yes, 5sos is still successful, yes thanks to 1D they became known but already 10 years of career, world tours (several) and one in progress and 5th album, best regards Liam Payne– Maria José (@majorodriguezH) June 2, 2022
We share some tweets about the interview and the reaction on networks:
What happened to Liam Payne? In what world does he live? The biggest boyband in history is the BACKSTREET BOYS. And unfortunately for him, it is known that only one band recently in 20 years has been able to almost recreate and/or achieve the madness that drags BACKSTREET BOYS, and it is BTS.

As a fan that I was of 1D today I consider Liam Payne buried, without regret, but rather disappointment, how do you think that BTS is not competition for their nationality, they are more focused, they are more professional than what you have been in your life, a pity your shit thought

Liam Payne continues to feed on 1D, detracts from the work of BTS and KPOP artists who today do more numbers than they did in their glory days. He hasn’t released a good song in years.
