Amber Heard says she’s still in love with Johnny Depp

The second installment of Amber Heard’s interview on the show Today was the scene of an unexpected statement from the actress. “I love her,” she told journalist Savannah Guthrie, who had just asked her if, after the defamation lawsuit, which she largely lost in Fairfax, Virginia, she “still had love” for her ex-husband.

The actress ofAquaman then elaborated on her point, explaining that she had “loved him with everything [son] heart” and “tried to make a broken relationship work”. “I didn’t make it,” she added.

Throughout the six-week trial, Johnny Depp denied raising his hand on Amber Heard, and said she was the aggressor in their relationship. For her part, the actress described scenes of appalling violence, including three days during which she claims that her former husband raped her with a glass bottle.

“I have no resentment or malice towards him. I know it can be hard to understand, or it can be really easy to understand if you’ve ever loved someone,” she said.

Amber Heard was ordered to pay $10.35 million in compensatory and punitive damages to her ex-husband, who was ordered to pay her $2 million in compensatory damages alone – in both case for defamation. The L’Oréal muse has already indicated, through her lawyer, that she has “absolutely not” the means to honor her conviction. The legal advisers of Pirates of the Caribbean have hinted, meanwhile, that the slate could be wiped clean if she does not appeal the court ruling.
