Wisin and Yandel will be recognized as “agents of change” at Premios Juventud

Wisin and Yandelself-proclaimed “The duo of history” of reggaeton, will receive the “Agent of Change” award on July 21 at the Premios Juventud 2022 in San Juan, for his support of the Latino community and his contribution to music.

As the production of the event explained in a statement on Wednesday, “both artists are recognized for using their public figures to promote change in the Latino community and the world, contributing to music and humanitarian social causes.”

The iconic reggaeton duo also has three nominations in this edition of the Premios Juventud, to be held at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José M. Agrelot in San Juan, including Banda or Favorite Duo of the Year.

The organization of the show also announced that a group of singers, including Puerto Ricans Michael Stuart, Luis Vázquez and Luis Figueroa, will offer a tribute to the legendary salsa band El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico.

Stuart, Vázquez, Manny Cruz, Luis Figueroa and Yahaira Plasencia will perform songs from the group such as “Let them put salsa on”, “There is no bed for so many people” and “Pilito’s party”, under the musical direction of maestro Sergio George .

The Mexican band La Adictiva, the Dominicans El Alfa and Manny Cruz, the Colombian Feid, the Peruvian Yahaira Plasencia and the Puerto Ricans Alejo and Robi will also participate in the event, as revealed by the organizers today.

La Adictiva will present its most recent song, “Eso Es La Riqueza” with Lenin Ramírez for the first time on television, while El Alfa will sing hits such as “Gogo Dance” and “La Romana”, and Alejo, Feid and Robi will perform the famous “Pantyhose” theme.

Previously announced artists include Ángela Aguilar, CNCO, Grupo Firme, Kenia Os, Danna Paola, Mau y Ricky, and Prince Royce.

Danna Paola, with three nominations, will make her debut this year as presenter of the Premios Juventud, accompanied by Eduin Caz, lead vocalist and leader of Grupo Firme, actress Clarissa Molina and singer Prince Royce.

Colombian singers J Balvin and Karol G lead the list of nominations for the Premios Juventud 2022, followed by Puerto Ricans Rauw Alejandro and Farruko.

With eleven nominations, J Balvin and Karol G aspire to the awards for Album of the Year, My Favorite Streaming Artist and male and female youth artists, respectively, among others.
