Carlos Lanz, the Venezuelan politician who was disappeared, kidnapped, murdered and dismembered by order of his wife

The attorney general of VenezuelaTarek William Saab, revealed this Wednesday that Carlos Lanz, a 74-year-old university professor missing since August 2020, was murdered with a firearm, in a crime planned by his wife, Maxiorisol Cumare, who was arrested along with 12 other people who participated in the event.

The prosecutor assured that, although 13 arrests have already been made, the investigation continues, so he did not rule out new arrests of subjects linked to the kidnapping and subsequent murder of the professor.

To victim’s wife crimes were charged hired killers, association to commit crimes, corruption and simulation of a punishable act.

The official explained that the event is divided into three parts: “kidnapping by hired assassins, disappearance and, finally, murder through firearms, of shots (…) A hair-raising plot that is like a cocktail of terror, which mixes multiple criminal motives”.

He also said that the confession of one of the detainees, identified as Glenn Castellanoswas the key to continue the investigation and find the details that led to those identified as guilty.

Castellanos, who is, according to the prosecutor, “extramarital partner” of the wife of Lanzrevealed that it was she who planned the crime and the circumstances in which it occurred.

Saab explained that Lanz was kidnapped and later transferred to a farm in Cojedes state.in the center-west of the country, where they killed him with two shots to the head and later dismembered his body and fed it to the animals on the farm.

He described the crime as a “death by order” and condemned the creation of a front, after the disappearance of Lanz, with “the intention of attacking the Venezuelan State as a violator of human rights.”

The crime

Using firearms, they forced Carlos Lance so that he could get into a blue Ford Explorer van, in which he was taken to the La Fortaleza farm, in fuck.

After 4:00 pm, in the presence of Tito Viloria, Helis Becerra (farm foreman) and Glenn Castellanos, they shot Lanz twice in the head and threw him into a grave dug by the foreman the day before.

However, because cumare ordered that there should be no traces of the body, they decide to remove the body from the grave and move it to a pig farm. There he was dismembered and thrown to nine pigs.
