Thanks to his great popularity within the industry and the outstanding roles he obtained, he has been recognized with various awards throughout his career. But, really, the most important was the one granted by the highest representative of the British crown.

In the year 2006, Robbie Coltrane became worthy of the Official title of the Order of the British Empire (OBE for its acronym in English), which was proclaimed by Queen Elizabeth II of England. This recognition was given in honor of his services to dramatic culture.

Although his world fame came from 2001 thanks to his participation in the “Harry Potter” movie, the truth is that Coltrane’s career had started years ago in tapes, television series and plays. One of his most remembered roles is that of Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky in the tapes “GoldenEye” (1995) and “The World Is Not Enough” (1999) of the “James Bond” saga.

In addition, he is also known for his participation in the British television series “Cracker” as doctor Eddie “Fitz” Fitzgerald, during the decade of the 90s. Thanks to this character, he was the winner of the BAFTA Award for Best Television Actor in the years 1993, 1994 and 1995.

While working on “Harry Potter”, between 2001 and 2011, he was also part of the cast of “Van Helsing”, “Oceans Twelve”, “Gooby” and “Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker”. After leaving the saga of wizards, he participated in ” Brave”, “Great Expectations”, “Effie Gray” and “National Treasure”.
