“The crimes of the academy”: what is it about and when does the film with Christian Bale premiere?

The film “The crimes of the academy”, directed by Scott Cooper, is the new bet of the streaming giant Netflix and brings back award-winning actor Christian Bale as Inspector Augustus Landor.

The actor -remembered for giving life to Batman in “The Dark Knight”- plays the inspector who -during 1830- is hired to discreetly investigate the gruesome murder of a cadet. On the way, and due to the silence on the part of the victim’s companions, he must join forces with a young man that the world would later know as the writer Edgar Allan Poe (Harry Melling). Although, both will be involved in a dangerous situation by following a serial killer.

After its premiere in theaters in the United States on December 23, “The Academy Crimes” will arrive on the Netflix streaming platform this Friday, January 6. In Peru, it can be seen from 3 am

The cast of the film is completed by Gillian Anderson, Lucy Boynton, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Toby Jones, Harry Lawtey, Simon McBurney, Hadley Robinson, Timothy Spall and Robert Duvall.

It should be noted that Scott Cooper’s film is based on the homonymous fictional novel written by Louis Bayard, where the author captures Edgar Allan Poe in a short passage in life, when the writer was still a student at the West Point Military Academy . At that time, he was inspired to write by a series of macabre events that marked his life.
