‘In the Shadow’, Prince Harry’s Memoir, Now Available Worldwide

As of this Tuesday, January 10, the book “En la sombra”, the memories of the prince harry, Duke of Sussex, is available worldwide. Its official release was made simultaneously, in 16 languages, thanks to Penguin Random House.

Plaza & Janés/Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial publishes the Spanish-language edition, entitled “En la sombra”, in print and electronic format. At the same time, an unabridged audiobook version was released. In North America, Random House US and Random House Canada simultaneously published the book, while in the UK it is edited by Transworld.

In the Shadows transports readers to one of the most heartbreaking images of the 20th century: two children, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin while the world watched in sorrow…and horror. As Diana, Princess of Wales was laid to rest, billions of people wondered what these princes must be thinking and feeling and what direction their lives would take next..

“The Heir and the Replacement: they said it without judgment, but also without ambiguity. I was the shadow, the secondary actor, the plan B. […] My mission was to offer a source of distraction, entertainment and, in case of need, a spare part. […] They made all of this abundantly clear to me from an early age and then regularly reinforced it.” Point to a paragraph in the book.

In this way, for the first time, Prince Harry tells his own story and narrates candidly and uncompromisingly. “In the Shadow” is an editorial milestone and a book full of lucidity, revelations, introspection and wisdom, acquired at a high cost, about the eternal power of love in the face of pain.

It should be noted that part of the proceeds from the book “In the Shadow” will be donated to British charities. The Duke of Sussex has donated $1.5 million to Sentebale, an organization he founded with Prince Seeiso as a legacy from their mothers, which helps vulnerable children and young people in Lesotho and Botswana affected by HIV/AIDS.

Prince Harry will also donate £300,000 to the non-profit organization WellChild. WellChild, of which he has been a royal patron for fifteen years, makes it possible for children and young people with complex medical needs to be treated at home instead of in hospital, whenever possible.
