When do the Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup begin?

recently completed the World Cup Qatar 2022leaving the Argentine team as world champion, however, the other South American teams are already thinking about the next elimination process, which is why they are awaiting confirmation from CONMEBOL on the official start date of the Playoffs 2026.

Initially, it was reported that the qualifying rounds would start in March 2023, however, this date would be modified, since at that stage there will be international friendlies.

Let us remember that in the last Qualifier, FIFA only granted 4 and a half places to South America for those teams to play in the World Cup, however, for the 2026 World Cup, the places will be extended to 6 and a half.

It should be noted that the 2026 World Cup will take place in Mexico, Canada and the United States, in addition, 46 teams will participate for the first time in the history of the World Cups.
