Carlos Vives announces tour of Latin America and anticipates a song from his next album

Colombian singer-songwriter Carlos Vives announced this Thursday, coinciding with the release of “Mala suerte”, a song from his next album, “Escalona: Nunca se había recorded así”, a tour of Latin America with the band La Provincia to celebrate his three decades in music.

“The 30” tour will take Vives and La Provincia in principle to ten countries (Colombia, Mexico, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Guatemala and Costa Rica) and twelve cities, although more will be announced soon, according to a statement from their representatives in Miami.

The tour will start in Colombia, specifically on April 29 at the Vallenato Festival, in Valledupar, and will continue on May 9 in Puebla (Mexico), on May 26 in Santa Cruz (Bolivia), on May 28 in Lima, on June 1 in Santiago de Chile, June 3 in Buenos Aires and June 4 in Montevideo.

The dates for the concerts in Montería and Neiva (Colombia), Guatemala City, San José, Arequipa, Peru)Quito and Cuenca (Ecuador) are yet to be announced.

After the success of “La Historia”, the first single from “Escalona: It had never been recorded like this” with which it reached number 1 on Colombian radio for three consecutive weeks, Vives released “Bad luck” this Thursday.

It is a song composed by the immortal Rafael Escalona who narrates a chapter of his own story in which he decides to embark on a new path, fleeing from his misfortune.

In addition, Carlos Vives is preparing for his special participation in the Latin American Music Awards (AMAs), which will take place on April 20 in the city of Las Vegas and will be broadcast on the Univision network.

In this edition of the awards, which will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Vives is nominated in the categories Best Artist-Tropical and Best Album-Tropical for “Cumbiana II”. He is also a candidate for the Best Collaboration-Tropical award for “Baloncito Viejo” along with his compatriot Camilo.

On March 22, he was nominated for the 2023 Nuestra Tierra Awards in 10 categories, including Song of the Year, Best Album of the Year for “Cumbiana II”, Best Alternative Song for “Babel” with Fito Páez and Best Concert of the Year. for “Cumbiana Tour”. The twelfth edition of the awards that celebrate the best of music made in Colombia will be held on May 17 at the Jorge Eliécer Gaitán Theater in Bogotá.

Vives, singer, songwriter, actor and philanthropist, has 17 Latin Grammy Awards, two Grammys and a place in the Billboard Latin Music Awards Hall of Fame. His more than 15 million monthly listeners on Spotify make him “one of the 300 most listened to artists in the world”.

It has generated billions of streams and views, has earned dozens of Platinum certifications, and has sold more than 20 million records worldwide.
