“Águilas” is the first single of four songs which were recorded at the end of 2022 in Lima. It was an organic work that was later mixed in Argentina by producer Matias Cella, winner of the Latin Grammy and recognized for having collaborated with Jorge Drexler and Kevin Johansen.
It is also the first cut from Velásquez’s solo EP.
The song, which has just been published on all digital platforms, reflects on the potential that people have to achieve their goals and be happy. Likewise, it delves into human relations, a topic that the national singer-songwriter usually addresses in his productions.
As is remembered, during the pandemic Velásquez immersed himself in an intimate journey and managed to locate the sound he had been looking for for years. This is how “6×8 ″ and “Lado ajeno” appeared, themes with which he experimented until “Águilas” arrived.
Velásquez is already scheduled to drop the full EP next month. The name of the plate is still a secret.
