The Latin Grammy 2023 will take place in Seville on November 16

The executive director of the Latin Recording Academy, Manuel Abud, announced this Thursday at a press conference to present the agenda for the Week of Los Latin Grammy, which will begin on the 12th of the same month, with activities in various locations in the Andalusia region, whose capital is Seville.

Those responsible for the gala had long thought about holding it outside the United States to influence the global nature of Latin music. In 2024, however, it will return to that country because it will coincide with its 25th anniversary and the academy is already in talks with three cities in that country.

In successive editions, the gala of these awards will once again leave the United States. To questions from journalists, Abud indicated that the tourist city of Malaga, also in Andalusia, is one of his possible scenarios.

Grammy Week will dedicate a night to the nominees of the 56 categories, with 300 candidates for the awards, which will come from the more than 19,000 entries of applicants that have been registered this year.

Another day will focus on women in the music industry as “pioneers who open doors” and another on the “best new Latin artist”.

In addition, producers and sound engineers will offer an “informal and spontaneous” musical session.

The special awards will be delivered at a separate ceremony, which will serve as recognition of great figures in the music industry throughout their careers.

And on November 15, an award will be given to an artist “of extraordinary recognition”, who has also distinguished himself by social commitment activities.

The gala on November 16 will be held at the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses in Seville and will be broadcast through a co-production by Univisión and Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE).

For now, the presenters of the gala and the artists who will participate in the show are unknown.

The arrival of the Latin Grammys in Andalusia has been possible thanks to the agreement that was announced last February after the regional president, Juanma Moreno, and Abud himself met in Seville, a collaboration that will last for the next three years.
