Juanes publishes “Veneno”, a new single from his upcoming album, “Vida cotidiana”

The funky-sounding song that revolves around the process of overcoming “a toxic relationship from the past”, as described in a statement released by his representative office, is published accompanied by a video that marks the artistic debut of the Colombian’s son, Dante.

“Whether it’s a former friend, co-worker or romantic partner, it’s someone whose betrayal was so traumatic that it caused health problems.” explained Juanes in the statement, adding that the song speaks “of a mental growth so deep” that it leads to “the ‘poison’ of that betrayal can no longer hurt.”

“He did a wonderful job of representing the inner child in us, who fights and finally overcomes the ‘giant’ of pain that betrayal has left”he added about his son’s participation in the video directed by María Camila Calle.

The single is the fourth to be published as a preview of his new studio album, which was produced by himself. Juanes and Sebastián Krys, and from whom the songs “Amores prohibidos” “Gris” and “Ojalá” have previously been published.

The singer-songwriter’s previous album of unpublished songs was “More future than past”, published in 2019.
