Sala IMAX arrived in Peru: what is it like and what does this new projection format consist of?

A new way of enjoying cinema in Peru. In the midst of great expectations, the inauguration of the IMAX theater with laser projection at Cinépolis Larcomar in Miraflores. In this way, the cinema chain company is committed to Peru with this new format in this part of the region.

IMAX (Full Image) is a cinema format capable of greater size and clarity than the standard resolution of other film systems, allowing audiences to enjoy a full and immersive experience from anywhere in a movie theater.

“Cinépolis has always been characterized by innovation and after having presented 4D in the Peruvian market, now it brings this new format called IMAX that offers a new experience, a more immersive sensation to the viewer”said Américo Gonzáles, general manager of Cinépolis Peru.

Among the benefits of this IMAX format is that the films are filmed in IMAX complying with all the standards before being shown. In the technical part, thanks to its laser projection it is possible to obtain an image with a balance of warmth and sharpness.

Meanwhile, the handcrafted remastering process allows each frame of a film to be completely transformed to produce the best possible version of a filmmaker’s vision. In the same way, it offers a more realistic experience, which means that viewers, from the position where they are sitting, have the same possibility of enjoyment precisely because of the state-of-the-art technology features.

The Cinépolis IMAX room has 295 seats, 260 traditional and 31 VIP, it has a slightly curved screen, the movies that are projected are filmed in IMAX format and are supervised by IMAX.

The sound is characterized by being immersive, allowing the viewer to hear an overwhelming explosion or whisper over their shoulder. In other words, you will be able to perceive even the smallest sound detail from the direction in which the action arises. The broadcasts of the tapes are broadcast in their original language in which they were shot and are subtitled.
