Barrionuevo premieres “Prayer to the Homeland” and asks to respect the national symbols

Diego Dibos and Óscar Cavero, leaders of the Barrionuevo cultural and musical project, are happy with the great acceptance that their second single and video clip, “Oración a la Patria” is achieving during these National Holidays, a song whose lyrics were written by Chabuca Granda.

The lyrics of “Oración a la Patria” pay homage to one of the most important symbols: the National Flag, which reflects the great love and patriotic fervor that Chabuca Granda felt; sentiments shared by Barrionuevo. Above all, at this time where we have seen our red and white flag painted black.

It would be very nice if a lyric by the great Chabuca was like a hymn for everyone. I think this song represents the love we have for our country, for our flag. There is a phrase that says: ‘If you have to die for you, you live for you’. This seems like genius”, says Diego Dibós.

This letter from Oración a la Patria is part of the manuscripts that Chabuca left, there she wrote to her flag with great respect, not just with affection. What Chabuca emphasizes in this song is important, the Peruvian flag is blameless, almost untouchable. No matter what happens in the country, the flag is not touched, its color is not changed, nothing is changed. The flag is our symbol and we must love it above all else”, highlights Dibós who does a feat with Mauricio Mesones to the rhythm of a tondero with modern sounds.

In addition, the official video clip has a special participation by the actor Leonardo Torres, who makes an emotional declamation to the flag. “The arrangements are by the hand of maestro Oscar Cavero, we opted for the tondero to give us a little more of that joy, of that party”, pointed out the musician.

“Oración a la patria” is part of the new album that Barrionuevo will present in October and which will be entitled “Letras escondidas de Chabuca Granda”.
