Carlos Vives and Juanes come together in their first collaboration “Las mujeres”

Colombian singers Carlos Vives and Juanes released this Thursday “Las Mujeres”, a cover of the classic vallenato by Carlos Huerta and the first collaboration of both that unites the most traditional rhythms of the Caribbean with the power of the electric guitar.

“The truth is that Juanes’ solo is the best of the song. We have wanted to do this for a long time and we finally made it happen, Juan also has a great love for vallenato and I am sure they will feel it in the song, this is pure rock from my town”, said Carlos Vives, quoted in a statement from his team.

This is also the second version that the vallenato singer has made of this song, since he had already released one in 2009 as part of the album “Clásicos de la provincia II”.

“Las mujeres” is also the first preview of Vives’ next album, in which the artist will have new versions of classics of the genre.. Juanes, meanwhile, described working with Vives as “very important”, who has been an inspiration for him when it comes to working with “his own, folklore” to translate it into his music.

“I had always dreamed of this moment and to finally be doing the song together for me is a great honor because it had been a long time”, added Juanes.

In the video clip, recorded in Bogotá, 25 women of different nationalities appear, among which the Colombian Mariana Pajón, two-time Olympic BMX champion, and the Venezuelan influencer Surthany Hejeij (Surthy Cooks) stand out.

The designer Lía Samanta and the philanthropic Catalina Escobar and Nadia Sánchez also appear. The audiovisual piece was directed by Sergio Rodríguez and Felipe Montoya and produced by Isabel Cristina Vásquez.

After having passed through Peru, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Bolivia, among other countries, Vives’ “El Tour de los 30” will continue with concerts in the US cities of New York, Chicago, Boston, Washington, Miami, Orlando, Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles to end on December 15 with a show at the El Campín stadium in Bogotá.
