Mon Laferte and three renowned producers will be honored by the Grammy Awards

The Latin Recording Academy announced Tuesday that this year’s Leading Ladies of Entertainment honorees are Róndine Alcalá, mon laferteSimone Torres and Ana Villacorta López.

The Outstanding Women in Entertainment program was created seven years ago to recognize socially conscious professional women in the Latino arts and entertainment industry who have made significant contributions and inspired the next generation of leaders.

The presentation of the honorees will take place on November 13 in Seville (Spain) as part of the main events of Latin Grammy Week.

Róndine Alcalá is the founder of RondenePR, a Miami music and entertainment PR agency, and Mon Laferte is a Chilean singer-songwriter who rose to fame in Mexico and has won several Latin Grammy Awards and has been nominated for a Grammy.

New Yorker of Puerto Rican origin Simone Torres is a Grammy-nominated vocal producer and engineer, and Ana Villacorta López is Senior Vice President of Marketing and Promotion for Sony Music Entertainment Mexico.

“This diverse group of outstanding and successful women has made great contributions to Latin music”said Manuel Abud, executive director of the Latin Recording Academy.

“We are proud to celebrate them with this and other initiatives that seek to promote gender parity and honor the prominent role that women play in the entertainment industry,” added.

In addition, El Corte Inglés, Viñas Familia Gil and Noteable by Spotify for Artists join the celebration as official sponsors, and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía (Spain), with the co-financing of European Funds, will incorporates as an institutional sponsor.

Additionally, for the third year, Noteable will make another special donation to the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation Scholarship Fund to support future Latin music creators.

Making contributions to give back and creating opportunities for future generations are one of the main pillars of the Leading Ladies of Entertainment program, which has partnered with She Is The Music, an international non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the number of women in the music, and the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation to collaborate on a mentoring program.

Honorees from previous Leading Ladies will be invited to mentor She Is The Music trainees. The alliance will strengthen last year’s Leading Ladies Connect TogetHER mentoring program.
