Susan Sarandon and Isabelle Huppert will be honored at the Lucca Film Festival

American actress Susan Sarandon and the Frenchwoman Isabelle Huppert will be honorary hosts and will receive tributes at the next edition of the Film Festival in the Italian city of Lucca (center), known as Lucca Film Festival, which will take place between September 23 and October 1.

In the case of Sarandon, the festival will remember the Italian origins of the performer since part of her maternal family comes from a town near Lucca, Mediterranean roots that also reach the island of Sicily, where last July she received another recognition in the city of Ragusa.

Likewise, the actress will receive the “Career Award” from the Luca Film Fest on September 28, in recognition of her career, with which she won an Oscar for best actress for “Dead Man Walking” in 1996 and was nominated in four others. occasions, including her famous performance in “Thelma & Louise” (1991).

For her part, Huppert will also be honored with the same award on September 25, with an event in which her latest film, “La verità secondo Maureen K.”, will be screened.

Huppert already received the Golden Lion for his career at the Venice Film Festival in 2005, one of the highest honors awarded by the film industry in Italy.

In addition to Sarandon and Huppert, the event will feature guests such as the Oscar-winning filmmaker Gabriele Salvatores, the director Kim Rossi Stuart, the actress Stefania Sandrelli, the director and screenwriter Mario Martone and the artists Laetitia Ky and Roberto Cahen.

For its part, the Lucca Film Festival will organize two international competitions for feature films and short films, as well as a section for emerging talents and another parallel section for video art.
