Gonzalo Torres, host of “Cuenta la historia”, is distinguished as a Meritorious Personality of Culture

Gonzalo Torres (Lima, 1969), the actor who achieved great popularity with his beloved and endearing character ‘Gonzalete’, in “Patacláun”, and who in “Cuenta la historia”, immerses us in an exciting journey through the most surprising news that the historical archive of El Comercio, was recognized by the Ministry of Culture as a Meritorious Personality of Culture, for his outstanding contribution to the cultural development of the country, contributing to the promotion of the history of Peru in the audiovisual media.

“Tell the story” began its second season on August 27. Once again under the leadership and direction of Torres. The first chapter was about the duel between Chocano and Elmore; and the second, about the bubonic plague that hit the country and the world at the beginning of the last century. The third took us to the construction of the first skyscraper in Lima, and the fourth to the 1940 earthquake in Lima and Callao, which left entire families in mourning. The fifth installment was about the first red light district of Lima and the sixth tells how the canonization of San Martín de Porres was experienced.

This microprogram can be seen every day on Canal N: Mondays at 10:00; Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.; Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.; Thursday at 10:00; Friday at 1:00 p.m.; Saturdays at 10:00; Sundays at 1:00 p.m.

Actor, television presenter, musician, communicator, screenwriter and publicist, after playing the Spanish priest Gonzalo González de la Gonzalera, in the television success of July Naters, ventured into hosting, with the program “A la just around the corner.” Later, he presented the radio space, ‘Mañana accursed’.

In theater he was part of the works:The Guide to the Hermitage”, “The Dog in the Manger”, “Waiting for Picasso”, “Dying for Love”, among others.

In 2008 he acted in the films, “A Naked Body” and ““Cu4tro”. In 2011 she participated in the film, “The Bad Intentions” by filmmaker Rosa García-Montero. That same year she premiered the one-man show, ‘The Caveman’ by Rob Becker.

Later, he appeared in national productions, “Asu Mare’” 1 and 2, “Locos de Amor”, “Recontraloca”, “Papá x tres” and in 2021 he had a small role in ‘A World for Julius’.

As a musician he was part of the ‘Nosequé y Nosecuántos’, replacing Fernando Ríos. He then moved to the group ‘La Liga del Sueño’. He participated in the debut album “Al Derecho y Alverso” in 1994 with Pelo Madueño and Johanna San Miguel.
