Javier Valdés and Marisa Minetti star in the play “The Winter of the Sun”

The work “The winter of the sun”, written and directed by Luis Yataco inspired by real events, announces its arrival on the Peruvian stage in November of this year. The staging will take place at the Ricardo Palma Cultural Center. Tickets are on sale through the Joinnus platform.

The main cast of the story is made up of Marisa Minetti, Javier Valdés, Melina Hernández, Nicolás Valdés and Luis José Ocampo, who have been very enthusiastic about being part of the theatrical production.

The narrative of this unique theatrical work will seek to make the public remember one of the most controversial war events in the Latin American region, specifically in Argentine history and the much-discussed support from the Peruvian army in 1982.

“It addresses the consequences of the Falklands War and the search for the truths hidden in it. As in any war context, those involved must respond to the dilemma of what to put first, whether to flee taking care of their integrity and their loved ones or, on the other hand, risk facing the conflict for a national interest, ultimately having to take charge of their decisions.” explained Yataco, director of the work.

“The Winter of the Sun” is the moving story of Valentina, an Argentine journalist who searches for the whereabouts of her father, Santiago, a former Peruvian intelligence agent, who fled after failing a mission in support of Argentina during the War. of the Falklands. The meeting of both – father and daughter – will uncover all those consequences of the war, hidden for many years in the silence of their homes and memories.

The play “El Invierno del Sol” will be presented at the Julio Ramón Ribeyro Auditorium of the Ricardo Palma Cultural Center in Miraflores, from November 3 to 20, 2023 on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at 8 pm and Sundays at 7 pm. Tickets are available at Joinnus, with a pre-sale price of S/35.
