Jodie Foster will receive recognition for her career at the Morelia Film Festival

American actress and director Jodie Foster He will receive the UNAM Film Archive Medal (National Autonomous University of Mexico) at the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) in recognition of his career.

The awarding of the medal, the festival detailed this Monday in a statement, will be on October 26 at 4:15 p.m. (22:15 GMT) in Room 5 of the Cinépolis Morelia Centro.

With a career spanning more than fifty years, Jodie Foster has worked with great directors such as Martin Scorsese, Robert Zemeckis, Roman Polanski, Jean Pierre Jeunet and David Fincher, among others.

She made her directorial debut in 1991, and has directed the films “Home for the Holidays” (1995) and “Money Monster” (2016), among others, as well as series episodes.

“The UNAM Filmoteca Medal was created in 1987 to recognize those people who, through their career, activities, analysis and interventions in the world of cinematography, contribute to enriching the world’s film heritage in all its aspects.”, indicated FICM.

The medal was designed by the sculptor Lorenzo Rafael and is made of 99.9% pure silver extracted during the developing process in the Film Library’s laboratories.

The design of the medal shows the UNAM shield on the front and the logo of the Film Library of said institution on the back. Some other personalities who have been awarded this Medal within the framework of the FICM have been Juliette Binoche, Isabelle Huppert, Willem Dafoe, Béla Tarr, Pawel Pawlikowski, James Ivory and Olivia Harrison.

The 21st edition of FICM will take place from October 20 to 29 with in-person screenings in Morelia, in the Mexican state of Michoacán, in the west of the country, and virtual screenings through Canal 22 and FilminLatino.
