“Suzume” already has a streaming release date: when and where to see it?

One of the most acclaimed animated films of 2023 is about to land on streaming. Is about “Suzume”, the most recent work by Japanese director Makoto Shinkai, which was in theaters in Latin America in April.

“Suzume” had its international premiere in February 2023 at the Berlin International Film Festival (also known as the Berlinale). It was the first time in two decades that an anime feature film was screened in the famous competition.

After that, the film made its run in theaters and achieved an international gross of 322 million dollars.

Crunchyroll announced that “Suzume” already has a release date in its streaming catalog.

In this way, the film can be seen from Thursday, November 16 throughout Latin America and in all Crunchyroll’s international territories (except Asia and France).

“Suzume” has recently been nominated for awards such as the World Soundtrack Awards and the Asia Pacific Screen Awards for best animated film. The film was also recognized at the Japan Academy Awards.

“Suzume” stars a character of the same name, a 17-year-old teenager who suddenly becomes responsible for closing mysterious doors that, when opened, cause devastation around her.

"Suzume" will also have a Spanish dubbed version.

This is what the official synopsis says:

“Suzume’s journey begins in a quiet town in Kyushu (located in southwestern Japan) when she meets a young man who tells her: ‘I’m looking for a door.’ What Suzume finds is a single worn-out door standing in the middle of the ruins, as if protected from any catastrophe. Seemingly drawn to her power, Suzume approaches the handle… The doors begin to open one after another throughout Japan, unleashing destruction on anyone near her. Suzume must close these portals to avoid further disasters.”

It should be noted that, in streaming, the film can be seen dubbed into Spanish. The dubbing studio in charge of the version for Latin America is VSI Ciudad de México. The dubbing director is Nicolás Frías.
