Mon Laferte explores her pregnancy in her new song “Something is better”

The latest single from the Chilean singer based in Mexico, My Laferte, “Something is better”, expresses the change of emotions and mentality that she has experienced in her life since she wanted to become a mother.

“I wrote this song while I was driving through Malibu with all the illusion of getting pregnant. I was very happy to be brave and seek motherhood. The Pacific Ocean always inspires me, the Californian landscapes are very similar to my hometown. As I looked out the window I felt so free, so full and happy!“Said the singer through a statement.

Last August the 38-year-old singer confirmed to her followers that she was pregnant and claimed to be meeting a new version of her that she had never experienced.

The launch of the song “Algo es mejor” was accompanied by a video that shows this sensation that Mon experienced while traveling by car through the United States, but with Mexico City as the setting.

In this one, Mon wears fun outfits that recall the “a go gó” time lived in the 60s of the last century, and follows the singer in her urban adventures while she meets different versions of herself that add to her urban and psychedelic trip.

With the launch of “Algo es mejor”, Laferte also announced the presentation of the second album that will be released in 2021, which will be called “1940 Carmen”, after the success of the album “Seis”, released in April since the year.

Laferte has four nominations for this year’s Latin Grammy at the event, awards that will take place in Las Vegas on November 18. The artist was nominated in the categories of best singer-songwriter album for “Six”; best pop song, for her collaboration with Gloria Trevi on the song “La mujer”; and song of the year and best regional Mexican song for “Let Our Love Be Known”, which he worked with Alejandro Fernández.

“1940 Carmen” is a work that she carried out in Los Angeles from March to July and that promises to be a “snapshot” of a stage in her life marked by her return to the stage and her pregnancy. Laferte is currently on a tour of the United States where he has had sold out performances and that will end on October 30, giving way to his first dates in Mexico.
