The Peruvian salsa boat Daniela Darcourtsponsored by the Puerto Rican salsa singer Tito Nieves, confirmed her participation on March 17 in the 40th anniversary of National Salsa Day, in San Juan, the organization of the event reported this Monday.
“Daniela, who is having resounding success internationally, accepted our invitation and we are very satisfied with the Peruvian representation at our 40th anniversary celebration”said Marcos Rodríguez, programmer for Zeta 93 FM – the station that organized the show – in a statement.
In this way, Darcourt joins the Cuban group Los Van Van, the Nicaraguan Luis Enrique and the Puerto Rican Jerry Rivera as other artists already confirmed for National Salsa Day.
Darcourt is going through one of the best moments of his career. Last year, also an actress, she promoted her single ‘Fuera’ with Nieves in several countries.
The singer was also nominated for a Latin Grammy in the ‘Best Salsa Album’ category with her album ‘Catarsis’. The musical song ‘Si Tú Te Atreves’ that she recorded with Nieves was the one that opened the doors for her internationally.
Other well-known Darcourt songs are ‘Adiós Amor’, ‘Señor Mentira’, ‘Probably’, ‘A Esa’, ‘Fuera’ and ‘Ya No Te Amo’. Darcourt, in turn, has collaborated with great recognized artists such as Olga Tañón and N ‘Klabe, with whom he produced the song ‘La Probabilit y de Amor’.
