“Oppenheimer” premiered in theaters in the United States on July 21, 2023. In Peru and other Latin American countries it premiered on July 20.

In streaming, the film can be seen in Latin America through the Max service (ex HBO Max) from April 26.

It is currently available for rent on Amazon.com for US$5.99.

The film is inspired by the story of Robert Oppenheimer, the inventor of the atomic bomb, and the subsequent regrets he had after the detonation of the device.

The movie “Oppenheimer” is based on the book “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer” which was written by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.

Characters such as the Oppenheimer couples and famous scientists such as Albert Einstein appear in the story.

This is what the critics of the film said:

“’Oppenheimer’ is one of Nolan’s best works, if not his best. And this is said by a big fan of Nolan. I’ve seen her twice. Impeccable first-rate immersive cinema. Cillian Murphy gets the role she deserves. In love with Downey’s work. This one demands your attention.” (MTV’s Josh Horowitz)

“’Oppenheimer’ blew me away: a large-scale character study, with a sublime central performance from Cillian Murphy. An epic historical drama, but with a distinctive Nolan sensibility: the tension, the structure, the sense of scale, the striking sound design, the remarkable visuals. Wow.” (Matt Maytum of Total Film)

“I’m torn between being all coy and mysterious about Oppenheimer and coming out and saying he’s a total ‘knockout’ that opened up my brain like a nervous plutonium core and left me sobbing through the end credits like I could. And for all those who have complained about the lack of sex in Christopher Nolan’s previous work… some sex like only Nolan could portray in this one.” (Telegraph’s Robbie Collins)

These are the actors who are part of the cast of “Oppenheimer”:

  • Cillian Murphy (J. Robert Oppenheimer)
  • Emily Blunt (Kitty Oppenheimer)
  • Matt Damon (Leslie Groves)
  • Robert Downey Jr. (Lewis Strauss)
  • Alden Ehrenreich (Senator Aide)
  • Florence Pugh (Jean Tatlock)
