The presenter of the 96th edition of the OscarJimmy Kimmel, went off script today to respond live to former US President Donald Trump, who on a social network criticized his work as master of ceremonies.
Before the announcement of the Oscar for best picture, which went to the big winner of the night, ‘Oppenheimer’, Kimmel referred to a comment that Trump made on his social network Truth, where he criticized him for being the “worst presenter.”
“The start was worse than mediocre. He tried so hard to be someone he is not. Get rid of Kimmel and replace him with another old-fashioned, cheap ABC talent like George Slopanopoulos (Stephanopoulos),” said Trump, who before entering politics was a regular on American television.
Kimmel read on his cell phone the comment in which Trump called him “boring” and criticized the ceremony for being “politically correct” and not giving “awards to those who deserve them.”
The presenter said, from the Dolby Theater stage, that, although the night should be for the nominees, he wanted to take the opportunity to comment on the publication of “a certain president.” “Thank you for watching us. “I thought it was your time to go to jail.”Kimmel pointed out to hit back.

This is the fourth time that Kimmel presented the Oscars, a ceremony that opened with a monologue that earned him criticism on social networks for being long and boring and using unfunny jokes.
