Little by little the winners of the Lights Awards 2023 They arrived at the Hilton Hotel in Miraflores: the boys from “Al angle”, with their lively sports spirit; Daniella Darcourt, with her captivating presence as a music star; the charismatic Philip Chu Joy, social media star; and also the juries of “The Great Chef”, theater actors and actresses, fashion icons, writers, filmmakers, playwrights, rappers, etc.
The Lights Awards party began at 7 pm. A meeting that every year brings together a diverse group of creators, who celebrate their own ability to energize and keep active the artistic, cultural and entertainment scene in our country. And it becomes more special because it is the public who votes to recognize their work. In this edition, the 19th in the history of the El Comercio award, 100,000 votes were reached. Quite a record.
Joy and gratitude
José Peláez, winner of the Driver of the Year award for “El Gran Chef”, assured that the award “It is the finishing touch that closes a spectacular year”. “I take it with great gratitude to the team of more than 100 people of which I am part; to Rayo en la Botella, which is a producer full of magic; to Latina, which is a channel that makes us feel at home; and my wife who contains me and helps me“, said.
For his part, historian Merlín Chambi received the award for Best Cultural Digital Program for the second consecutive year. “This means for me a notable recognition in my career as a cultural disseminator and I carry it with pride and emotion since it crystallizes my efforts to not let the country’s historiographic tradition die.“, he pointed.
We cannot fail to mention two of the most emotional moments of the night, such as the awards given to two figures who are no longer with us: the award for Best Book of Stories for “11 Words” by Julia Wong, a writer who died long ago. few weeks; and the Single of the Year award for “Amor yo te perdido la fe”, by the remembered Pedro Suárez Vértiz, who left at the end of last year.
It was precisely Suárez Vértiz’s wife, Cynthia Martínez, who received the award. “Very proud and excited about everything Pedro has achieved and continues to achieve. This award means that he and his music are more relevant than ever and will be for a long time.”he highlighted.
The ceremony, marked by joy and reunion, ended around 11 p.m. Don’t miss the special edition with the most extensive coverage of the event that we will publish this Sunday. Below is the complete list of winners.
