Kevin Costner will present at the next edition of the Cannes Festival, out of competition, the first episode of the project ‘Horizon, an American saga’, the series about the West that he is in the process of directing, with Sienna Miller as the protagonist.
“I haven’t had the pleasure of going to La Croisette for 20 years. “I have waited for the right moment and I am proud to say that it has now arrived,” The actor said in a statement released this Monday by the organizers of the Festival, which will take place between May 14 and 25 in the French Mediterranean city.
The protagonist and director of ‘Dances with Wolves’ assured that the Cannes Film Festival is the “dream” place to reveal to humanity a project that he launched 35 years ago.
“The French have always supported films and believed deeply in cinema. “As much as I deeply believe in my film,” said.
‘Horizon, an American saga’ will be made up of four episodes about the conquest of the western United States, which will be presented over several months and will also feature Sam Worthington and Jena Malone in the cast.
The first of these chapters will be presented worldwide on May 19 in Cannes.
That genre, the ‘western’, one of Costner’s favorites, which marked his transition to the other side of the camera in 1990 with “Dances with Wolves” (1990), gave him seven Oscars and great success with the public.
