Ecuador: Jorge Glas is transferred to the Military Hospital for alleged drug overdose

The former vice president of Ecuador, Jorge GlasHe was transferred to the Military Hospital of Guayaquil, the city where he is being held, due to an alleged drug overdose, reported activists from the Citizen Revolution movement.

The transfer from the maximum security prison of La Roca, where Glas is serving preventive detention, was carried out under tight police and military security, reported the newspaper El Universo.

Sources close to the former employee confirmed that is “stable”.

In turn, the Primícias portal had access to a police report which reads: “It is assumed that self-induced deep coma diagnosis caused by the ingestion of anxiolytic, antidepressant and sedative medications.”
