Melcochita returns to music: “I want to be known more as a sonero”

Pablo Villanueva “Melcochita” presented his new orchestra, expressing the motivation he says he has at 88 years old, which is why he will offer a series of concerts in various well-known restaurants in Peru.

In this way, the artist shared his gratitude for the businessman Mauricio Diez Canseco, who summoned him to the stage highlighting his talent as a soneroin addition to sponsoring him with an exclusive orchestra for him.

“I feel very happy and grateful to Mauricio Diez Canseco for returning to the stage with a facet that I love”said.

After that he added: “And that in Peru I have not developed much. I want to remember that in 1981 I recorded my first song in the United States and now it is still valid.”.

The prominent sonero, who was accompanied by his wife Monserrat Seminario, He recalled that he has been dedicated to music for more than 60 years and has recorded more than 20 albums.

He has also been recognized by various figures of international salsa, such as Celia Cruz, Willie Colón, Cano Estremara, Jhonny Pacheco and others.

He also said that, for now, he is away from comedy, because humor has devolved in his opinion. “Now they look for easy laughter”he sentenced.

In addition, Melcochita is the composer of songs like “Madre” and “Pegaso”, which have become salsa classics worldwide. “I am going to continue producing music and, above all, modernize my songs like Pegaso and others”he said.

In this new stage, Melcochita has promised that she will make the entire audience dance with her deliciousness, where she will perform all her hits, salsa classics and trendy songs.
