“Spiderman: No Way Home”: 5 Surprising Details You May Not Notice In The Trailer

A few days after its premiere, the second trailer for “Spiderman: No Way Home”, The end of the trilogy that brought Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU, for its acronym in English), from the hand of Sony Pictures (owner of the film rights) with Marvel Studios (producer of these new films ). Attentive! This new preview, which lasts just over three minutes, brings surprises that we will reveal step by step in the following lines. Spoiler alert.

1. Are Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the trailer?

Although Garfield has denied belonging to the cast of this new installment, various leaks have shown otherwise. Even in the official Sony Twitter account in Brazil, something very interesting is observed.

Did you see Lizard get hit in the face by an invisible force? There is no one near him. So why does it seem like they hit it? Various fans point out that Lizard would be being attacked by Maguire and Garfield’s Spider-men, and that Sony and Marvel would not have shown the complete scene in the trailer.

In the second 53 of this advance it would appear that Tom Holland is facing three villains; However, the clip released from Sony’s Brazilian account would reveal that the battle is three against three, that is, the three Spiderman vs. Electro, Sandman and Lizard together.

If it weren’t, according to fans, the Lizard’s movements in the clip in question would be meaningless and extremely unnatural. Another of the images that would give weight to this theory is the leaked image of the film that shows the three Spider-Man standing near a scaffold.

2. Did Doc Ock get any Stark tech?

Years have not passed by Doc Ock; however, a curious detail is its tentacles, they have become darker. They now look different from the original version of the character played by Sam Raimi, whose arms sported a metallic silver hue and now added a dark red hue. So much has happened, that perhaps this is the new look of Doc Ock, that now that he has passed into the ranks of Marvel.

Has Dr. Octopus gotten some Stark tech before his first encounter with Holland’s Spider-Man? What fans are assuming is that first if Ock was one of the first villains to enter the MCU, he may have done so from a place where Stark technology is sold on the black market.

It is quite likely that he stole this technology and incorporated it into his own suit. Recall that in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the color red is associated with Iron Man.

3. Will Captain America appear on the tape?

With the excitement of seeing the return of Spider-Man, your arachnid senses have likely played a trick on you and you didn’t notice the reference to Captain America.

In one of the general shots of “Spiderman: No Way Home”, it is observed (min 1:12 of the official trailer) that the Statue of Liberty is being transformed into a monument to Captain America, with a giant version of the iconic shield of the superhero in the center of the stage.

4. Will Sandman and Doc Ock switch sides?

Another important detail that is seen in the new trailer is that Doc Ock realizes that Holland’s character is not the Peter Parker that he knows (of course, if it has been almost 20 years).

The scientist is quite reserved when he dialogues with Peter, Mary Jane and Ned when he has apparently been captured. Do you really want revenge on Spider-Man or are you looking for answers? If so, Doctor Octopus could end up amending himself and joining the team of Spiderman and Dr. Strange. It is important to mention that in Spiderman 2 (2004) the scientist had already found himself in the dilemma of being a hero or a villain and finally decided to save New York. What will your choice be this time?

For his part, Sandman, the villain whom Maguire’s Spider-Man forgave his direct involvement in the death of his Uncle Ben, seems to be taking things slow and a different life away from violence. However, we do not know what his reaction will be when he discovers that the Peter Parker he remembers is gone.

We also don’t know what action he will take when he finds out that Spiderman and Strange are trying to send each villain back to their original universe. In that sense, Doc Ock and Sandman may end up switching sides and helping the good guys and bad guys, respectively.

5. Who is Dr. Strange talking about at the end of the trailer?

In the last scene of the trailer, the multiverse is already a fact, and Holland’s Spider-Man asks Dr. Strange what is going on, and he responds: “They are starting to break through … and there is nothing I can do to stop it.”

For whatever reason, Peter and Strange fight. It may be related to the villains indicating that if they returned to their worlds, they would die. Photo: Sony Pictures.

So who is he talking about? The focus is on Maguire and Garfield, who could help save the day. However, what will happen to other secret characters that also spill over into the MCU?

The post-credits scene in “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” hints that the antihero could also be introduced to the MCU as part of the multiverse effect. Will the same happen with other characters?

More on “Spiderman: No Way Home”

“Spiderman: No Way Home”, directed by Jon Watts, is the end of the trilogy that brought Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this as part of a joint strategy by Sony Pictures

With a Peter Parker in his school years, these films show how the hero goes on to become one of the most important in the world, especially after the death of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) during the final fight against Thanos.

But things are not easy for Parker, whose secret identity as Spiderman was revealed by the villainous Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) as part of his revenge after ruining his plans to take over the world with technology stolen from Tony Stark.
