Spotify Removes Shuffle Button From Albums By Default At Adele’s Request

The button that allows random playback within albums in Spotify no longer appears by default following a request from Adele, so that users can listen to the songs in the order in which the artists have established them.

The random play button is no longer present by default in albums and the reason is found in a request from the artist Adele, who has just released her new album, ’30 ′. The change also affects Premium accounts.

“This was the only request I had in our ever-changing industry”, The singer has pointed out on her Twitter profile, where she has also explained the reason for said request: “We don’t create albums so carefully and thoughtfully on our song list for no reason. Our art tells a story and our stories must be heard as we intend ”.

Although the button is no longer present in albums, this does not mean that Spotify has permanently withdrawn it, given that users still have the option to activate it manually from the view of a song playing, as you have confirmed to The Verge the music communications manager, Chris Macowski.
