It was a heroic effort, albeit with ends that could be defined as almost malevolent. We refer to the emphasis and persistence with which the actor Andrew Garfield denied his return to the role of Spider-Man in the movie “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in various interviews and events leading up to its release in mid-December.

Now it turns out that his web of lies extended even to those closest to him, as was the case with actress Emma Stone, his co-star in “The Amazing Spider-Man” saga.

This was revealed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, where Garfield confessed to journalist Josh Horowitz that he had fun cheating on his friendship and ex-partner.

Emma kept texting me and saying, ‘Are you in this new Spider-Man movie?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about!’ She was like, ‘Shut up, just tell me.’ And how, honestly… I kept it up, even with her, it was hilarious.”, admitted the actor. “And then she saw (the movie) and said to me, ‘You’re an idiot’”.

As you may remember, the actor appeared in the second half of “No Way Home” alongside his predecessor Tobey Maguire and his successor, the current Spider-Man, Tom Holland, in one of the biggest films of 2021.

After his appearance in the film, the desire has been revived for Andrew Garfield to return to the Spider-Man suit, a project that the actor has not been against if the appropriate circumstances occur.
