Homemade jam recipe to take advantage of your favorite fruits

This recipe can be prepared from any fruit and the good thing is that it uses half the sugar of other recipes.

Ingredients:

  • 1k of the fruit you prefer in season (strawberries, pineapple, aguaymantos…)
  • 500g sugar
  • 2 tbsp. of lemon juice

Preparation:

Wash the fruit and cut it into cubes, in two, or in four, depending on the fruit you use. For example, if they were aguaymantos cut them in 4, cross type. Then place the fruit in a bowl and add the sugar, mix to integrate the ingredients. Let it rest in the refrigerator covered with plastic wrap overnight or for 12 hours, this will cause the fruit to release liquid in which it will cook. Then cook in a thick-bottomed pot for 15 minutes from when it starts to boil, cook over medium-high heat. At the end, off the heat, add the lemon juice (this helps the fruit pectin to gel and stabilize the jam). Let cool and place in a jar in the refrigerator.

Enjoy it for breakfast, lunch boxes, snacks and in different preparations.
