The Diners Club Perú Open began with a goal at Los Inkas Golf Club and two old acquaintances began leading the day this Thursday. The Mexican Rodolfo Cazaubón and the Argentine Julián Etulain are two of the four players who command the table of the fourth event of the PGA TOUR America, along with the Americans Chris Korte and Evan Brown.
Spectacular day at Los Inkas Golf Club where the four golfers completed their cards with 6 under par (66 strokes) after the first day of competition.
One shot away are Mexicans Jorge Villar and Luis Gerardo Garza, they are part of a group of nine players who went 5-under par to finish the day tied for fifth place.
“Two months ago I didn’t want to know anything about this game,” said Cazaubón, who was in the process of reevaluating whether to continue playing golf.
And Lima gives him a good feeling to rediscover his game. It was at the 2015 Peru Open that he won this event and his start to the current tournament motivates him to seek to repeat the success. “Last week he was too excited that he was going to have the chance to play here in Lima. It was a very drastic change and once I was here I took advantage of the opportunity. Today the truth is that I really enjoyed being on a golf course,” he said.

Etulain, for his part, won twice in Lima (2013 and 2014) and wants to make history. “This is a place that brings back very good memories for me. In fact, I went back to work with the caddy I won with,” the 35-year-old said. “(The Inkas) are one of those courts that fit your eye a little more and where you feel a little more comfortable,” he declared.
The Diners Club Perú Open started in a great way, and the public celebrated when the American Chris Crawford managed to score a hole in one on the par-3 4th hole.
On the Peruvian side, the best placed after the first day is Joaquín Lolas, with -2 to place himself in 34th place. He is followed by Julián Périco in box 68, equaling the pair. Luis Fernando Barcos starts with 1, as does Jaime Yzaga, while Mauricio Tello started with 3.
