Fried wontons: the best tips to cook them stuffed and with tamarind sauce

Fried wontons can be filled with chicken, pork, turkey or a mixture of the meats you prefer, you just have to fry them very carefully. Learn the best tips for your wontons in this prescription of Yo Madre’s Recipes.

Follow the steps:

Ingredients

For the wonton:

  • 20 sheets of wonton pasta
  • 50 grams of ground chicken
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste

For the sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons of ketchup sauce
  • 3 tablespoons red vinegar
  • 6 tablespoons of white sugar
  • A tablespoon of chuño or cornstarch
  • A cup of water

Preparation

For the filling, mix the chicken with the pepper, salt and sesame oil and let it rest for about 10 minutes so that the flavors are integrated. If you don’t know how to assemble the wontons, don’t worry. Enter my YouTube channel ‘Las Recetas de Yo Madre’ and I’ll teach you how to assemble them easily. Fry the wontons in hot oil, but over low heat, as they burn quickly. It is important that you do not neglect the preparation.

Let’s make the sauce. Place the water, vinegar, ketchup and white sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil over very low heat, stirring constantly. Then, dissolve the chuño or cornstarch in a minimum of cold water and add it to your preparation in the form of a thread, little by little and moving without stopping, so that no lumps form. When it thickens, remove it from the heat and let it cool.

NOTE: You can fill your wontons with chicken, pork, pavita meat or the one you like the most, or even mix all kinds of meats and it is also tasty.
