The 10 best chocolate cakes, according to Provecho readers

On January 27 of each year, International Chocolate Cake Day is celebrated, this tradition was born in the United States under the name of ‘Chocolat Cake Day’, then it was adopted throughout the world. As the story goes, this cake was born in 1765 because when grinding the cocoa beans into stones, the syrup that remained, far from being lost, was poured into molds. To celebrate this day, we asked Provecho readers which is the best chocolate cake in Lima and these were the ten most mentioned:

1. Dolce capriccio

The chocolate cake most voted by Provecho users was that of Dolce Capriccio, which can be found in different sizes, by slice and whole (from 16 soles per slice and from 50 soles for the whole one). Provecho users also mentioned the chocolate cake from Tentaciones as one of their favorites. Like the previous option, it can be found in a slice from 16 soles and whole that goes from 39 soles (2 portions) to 225 soles (35 portions). The locations are: Av. Santa Cruz 925 and Av. 3. The Sweet Dose

La Dosis Dulce offers a chocolate cake that has conquered many for being super moist! and it can be found in portion at 16 soles and whole at 95 soles. The location of this candy store is at: Av. Paseo de la República 5370 – Miraflores.

4. Macchia

In fourth place is the torta offered by Macchia, Maria Gracia Flórez’s pastry shop. The portion has a value of 16.90 soles, while the whole one can be found from 100 soles to 160 soles, depending on the number of portions. The cafeteria is located at Av. Benavides 2059, Miraflores.

5. La Paztelería

Enzo Paz Romero offers his diners a moist chocolate cake, with delicacy and pot fudge and cocoa crumble on the outside, prices range from 65 soles and 100 soles, depending on the size of the cake. And you only find it for delivery.

6. Gonzalito cooks

Chef Gonzalo Arbulú Bustíos offers a traditional moist chocolate keke with a double layer of marjablanco a la olla, fudge coverage and chocolate topping. The prices of his cakes range from 52 soles to 133 soles and can be obtained by delivery.

7. Vekia Pastry

Vekia’s specialty is chocolate cake and this has been recognized by Provecho readers, which is why they place it among the best.
