“Virgilio”, a documentary about Peruvian chef Virgilio Martínez, will be screened at the Lima Film Festival

“Virgilio”, the documentary that tells the story of the Peruvian chef Virgil Martinez and Central, his acclaimed restaurant, will be screened at the 27th edition of the Lima Film Festival, which will take place from August 10 to 18.

The documentary was directed by Argentine Alfred Oliveri with the production of Martin Rupenian, Raúl Pochintesta and House of Chef.

House of Chef, founded by Olivieri, is the first production house in Latin America specializing in films linked to the world of cooking, wine and spirits. From 2018 to date, it has produced and released five feature films that have had international repercussions.

“Virgilio” shows, in addition to the work at the Central restaurant, the chef’s achievements with his wife and partner Pía León in Cusco with the MIL restaurant.

The documentary is currently available for streaming on Netflix, but the Lima Film Festival will be an opportunity to see the feature film on the big screen.

The performance of “Virgilio” will be on Monday, August 14 at 9:30 pm in the Red Room of the PUCP Cultural Center.
