For the cream:

Both the cupcakes and the frosting can be made the night before. Then simply store the cupcakes in a container with a lid and the cream in the refrigerator. The next day, take the frosting out of the refrigerator about 3 hours before using it, whip it again, and then pour it over the cupcakes as usual.
